20-SG Snowmelter

The Trecan 20-SG is commonly used in hospital, university and commercial parking garages and other parking structures that have parking on the top deck and/or have multiple top deck parking facilities. With a capacity of 20 tons per hour, its 4.5 million BTU/hr burner can melt 50 to 100 cubic yards of snow with an average snow density of 15 to 30 lbs/cu. ft. per hour.
The adjoining photo shows an example of a 20-SG melting tank and equipment module located on the deck below the top deck in a double-T parking structure. A chute from the top deck directs snow into the melting tank.
If the parking structure was a cast-in-place construction, the top of the melting tank would be flush with the surface of the top deck, and the equipment module would be located on the top deck beside the melting tank.

40-SG Snowmelter

The Trecan 40-SG is an excellent choice for airports, universities, parking lots, strip malls and shopping plazas. With a capacity of 40 tons per hour, its 9 million BTU/hr burner can melt 100 to 200 cubic yards of snow with an average snow density of 15 to 30 lbs/cu. ft. per hour. A Trecan 40-SG will use 9,000 SCFH or 255 cubic meters of gas per hour.

The adjoining photo shows a 40-SG installed in the top deck of a cast-in-place parking structure. This unit has a customized melting tank top with two hinged tank covers, where the typical tank would have a single hinged cover.

60-SG Snowmelter

The Trecan 60-SG has a capacity of melting 60 tons of snow per hour. Its 13.5 million BTU/hr burner can melt 150 to 300 cubic yards of snow with an average snow density of 15 to 30 lbs/cu. ft. per hour. A Trecan 60-SG will use 13,500 SCFH or 382 cubic meters of gas per hour.

The Trecan 80-SG has a capacity of melting 80 tons of snow per hour, its two 9 million BTU/hr burners can melt 200 to 400 cubic yards of snow with an average snow density of 15 to 30 lbs/cu. ft. per hour.

The adjoining photo shows an 80-SG installation on the top deck of a cast-in-place parking structure. The melting tank is custom designed to meet the customer requirements of loading snow from two directions. Typically, snow is loaded from one direction and would have one hinged tank cover.

80-SG-M Snowmelter

The Trecan 80-SG-M has a capacity of melting 80 tons of snow per hour, its two 9 million BTU/hr burners can melt 200 to 400 cubic yards of snow with an average snow density of 15 to 30 lbs/cu. ft. per hour.

The adjoining photo shows an 80-SG-M being test fit in our shop before shipping to a customer. The melting tank and equipment room can be moved from one location to another if it is intended to be a temporary installation, or if the customer has another requirement for the space during the Spring through Fall seasons.

120-SG Snowmelter

The Trecan 120-SG has a capacity of melting 120 tons of snow per hour, its two 13.5 million BTU/hr burners can melt 300 to 600 cubic yards of snow with an average snow density of 15 to 30 lbs/cu. ft. per hour. The model 120-sg is fast becoming the choice of large shopping centers and malls.

The adjoining photo shows one of the two 300-SG Snowmelters at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. With five burner systems mounted in a common melting tank, the width of the tank allows full width (over 30′) airport plows to directly load snow during each pass of the apron.
